About Dr. Schneider

Dr. Keith M. Schneider is a Mentor, Ohio native and board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving patients throughout Lake County and Northeast Ohio. His clinical focus includes dental implant surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, facial trauma reconstruction, and office-based anesthesia.

Known for his disciplined surgical approach and thoughtful patient communication, Dr. Schneider emphasizes careful diagnosis, precise treatment planning, and individualized care. His hospital-based training and active hospital affiliations allow him to manage both routine and complex oral and facial surgical cases with a comprehensive perspective.

Outside the Office

Outside of his surgical practice, Dr. Schneider enjoys carpentry and working on his family farm. He and his older brother continue the tradition of producing maple syrup — a craft that reflects the same patience, precision, and pride he brings to his clinical work.

Education & Residency

Dr. Schneider graduated from the University of Mount Union before earning his Master’s degree in Cellular Biology and Virology through Cleveland State University in conjunction with Case Western Reserve University and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. During this time, he conducted research involving oral bacteria and AIDS-related virology.

He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the School of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Following dental school, he completed a full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at MetroHealth Medical Center and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. This intensive hospital-based residency provided advanced training in anesthesia, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, pathology, and dental implant reconstruction.

Dr. Schneider maintains hospital affiliations with Lake Health System, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, Ahuja Medical Center, and Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. He also serves on the faculty of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program at Case Western Reserve University.


Memberships & Certifications

Dr. Schneider is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He currently serves as President of the Northeast Ohio Dental Society and Vice President of the Ohio Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

His professional leadership roles reflect a commitment to advancing the standards of oral and maxillofacial surgery across Ohio while supporting continuing education and collaboration within the dental and surgical communities.
